A very fantastic meal

Beautiful cherries make the afternoon of studying art law in the courtyard lovely. Our landlady's boyfriend is very sweet and offers us cherries through the window.

We finally got to treat ourselves to a lovely Italian meal. Here it is:

1. We were greeted with prosecco at the bar while they prepared out table (and this is with no reservations, simply a beautiful gesture).

2. At our table we decided to get the 5 course tasting menu: land this evening rather then sea along with a beautiful glass of a slightly sweet red wine.

The first course: beef surrounding pâté in light sauce.

The second course: canneroni with tomato, parmesan, and pancetta over an onion purée.

The third course: ravioli filled with ricotta and amaretto.

The fourth course: cockerel (as Q says- good, I'm all about gender equality) in a peanut sauce with a mash
of turnips and potatoes and some ridiculously amazing green sauce which you can see in the background of the photo.

The fifth course: fantastic desert with raspberry, frozen custard, and beautiful dark chocolate accompanied by, of course, espresso. Gorgeous espresso.

A fantastic evening at Il Santo Graal ristorante!

A very good day!

So, today I finally got my loans and am now able to survive and actually enjoy myself to a fuller extent in Italy. Here are some pictures from the past few days. Just Florence in its glory.

First meal cooked in the apartment!

So by cooked I mean boiled but still good! Fresh made ravioli with spinach and ricotta from a local market. With some balsamic drizzled over. No time for a reduction maybe tomorrow.

A little bit of Florence

A few photos from wandering around Florence today. The beautiful view is from the Piazza Michelangelo just a few minutes walk from our apartment. The staircase and fireplace are from our school. Not a bad place to go every day! More when I manage to find better consistent access to internet.
